What a whirl wind!!!

A week and a half ago I was in contact with the Israeli Government who offered to pay for me to enter Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain if I blogged about their delegation of companies. A week and a half later I am back in the States and jet lagged. WOW!!! Thank you Israel Tenenbaum for a wonderful experience and the chance to visit Spain.

Joiku is Brilliant

I’m not sure how Joiku will work out for me. I am awaiting a Nokia N95-3 from WOM World that should hopefully make this program useful for me. Even if I wasn’t getting the phone I would still love this because it would give me the ability to dial up to the net without having to tether. I will have to play with it more, I’m excited to see how this will enhance my mobile experience.

Truphone voice quality is great

I have started to use Truphone a great deal more then I have in the past. I am now forwarding all my business calls to Truphone and starting to make a great deal of my calls via Truphone, all on my Nokia e61i. Wow, it’s fantastic like always. I had a 5-10 minute call today with Andy Abramson (thanks Andy for your time), we were both using the service (Truphone being one of his clients), I was in my office in Los Angeles and he was on the other side of the world in London. All I can say is Andy, your clients are doing something very right. Call quality was great and I didn’t detect any delay.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Truphone is one of my favorite and most useful companies/services. They have more potential then any company out there on the market today to make it big. All I need now is a Nokia with US 3G and I will be ready to concur the world.

I started an account last night with a company called Dopplr. They let you share with your friends, colleagues, and family where you are when you travel. If they participate also it will let you know when you and so and so will be in the same city at the same time. It just came out of beta in December and seems to be a huge hit. I am actually wanting to travel just to test out the service. I have sent invites to a few friends and look forward to taking advantage of this.

I think this kind of thing will really help people stay in touch with acquaintances and business associates more then family or friends, but that is what it was created for, business travelers. I wish this service was around a few years ago when I was flying all over the place all the time.

Pizza places offering mobile/web ordering

Wow, I had the news on in the background while I was working and just heard that Pizza Hut and Papa Johns Pizza are both implementing a SMS and online ordering. I love the idea o bing able to order your pizza on your phone. I truly hope they will have an m. (M dot) website so it can easily be done over the mobile net. Now we just need to have all kinds of other restaurants offer this service. Come on Chinese food and Deli News.

Boy this is time consuming. My MacBook came with iWeb software to help you with building websites. I like it but it is a bit to simple. I really need something just a bit more detailed but just as user friendly. I will announce on here when I can all the details about my TOP secret project and you will be able to check out the website I built.

Gizmodo bloggers think their funny but should be blacklisted from CES

I am amaized at the prank Gizmodo pulled at CES in Las Vegas this week. They had the odacity to start turning off TVs and monitors everywhere they went at the show. Most disruptive was during keynote speeches from industry big shots. I’m not opposed to having a little fun but the fact that they did this repeatedly was over the top. Being an event and expo producer myself I can say that I would without a doubt have kicked these jokers out of the show and blacklisted them. I would have also held their company responsible for not putting a stop to this in the beginning. The culprits went beyond he level of being funny and as I read Jaiku and some blogs, people don’t think this is a big deal. Let me tell you that when a company like Motorola pays probably over $100,000 for everything that they had and did at CES they don’t want the negative publicity they are getting from the video that’s going around the net showing their speaker perplexed as to what to do during his speech.

This was childish of Gizmodo and if I were the floor manager or producer of CES I would ask for the culprits to be fired and ask Gizmodo to not return next year.

This is just my 2cents.

CES Leaving Las Vegas???

That is the word on the blogsphere today. Las Vegas is the apitimy of conventions and has a draw for outsiders like no other city on earth. I can honestly say I’m surprised that any event would want to leave Vegas if there is any way for it to stay. I know it is all about making money but leaving Las Vegas doesn’t seem like the best answer. In my professional opinion I would predict a downturn in attendance and booth sales if it is moved. I can’t foresee an uptake for at least 3 years.

I can’t wait to see what will happen next year, if they move it, with any luck CES will end up in Los Angeles.

Truphone is rocking customer service

I have been a user of Truphone for over a year now and have come to really enjoy their service. Lately they have not worked well with GrandCentral but Truphone Customer Service and Tech team have solved my issues.
